Weather Testing

Weather testing of Doors & Windows

We offer independent UKAS accredited weather testing for windows and doors.

Testing services include:

  • Testing of windows and doors to BS 6375:2009 Part 1
  • Air permeability to BS EN 1026:2000
  • Watertightness to BS EN 1027:2000
  • Resistance to wind load to BS EN 12211:2000
  • BFRC Air permeability
  • NSAI Air permeability
  • R&D test days

BFRC Air permeability testing

An air permeability test at 50Pa is required as part of the BFRC window energy rating. This can be obtained from a complete air permeability test to BS EN 1026:2000. Alternatively a single test at 50Pa can be provided for BFRC purposes only.

The standard BFRC window size is 1230W x 1480H. A central mullion must be included with one side fixed, the other opening. Other sizes can be accepted and test data extrapolated accordingly for use within the thermal simulations.

NSAI Air permeability

Similar to the BFRC test except air permeability testing undertaken with pressures up to 600Pa.

R&D test days

New product designs can be tested and optimised during an R&D day. For example non production specimens can be tested with different gasket types and combinations. Helps to ensure new products pass the weather tests first time.
